Hylton Nel Ceramics

3 - 25 October 2017

The ceramics of Hylton Nel are brimming with wit, charm, elegance and humour. His ceramics, which include plates, vases, bowls, and plaques, are decorated with a rich visual language developed over the past four decades. These works reference decorative arts from across the world; literary and art historical sources; objects and images collected from popular media collected whilst living in South Africa.  His figurines and drawings illustrate Nels witty sense of humour using the playful sexual imagery of the male nude form, as well as often surreal motifs of cats and mermaids, or Adam and Eve.

All works are offered for sale and are on view at our New Bond Street gallery in Gallery 4.
