The beginning of the twentieth century saw a great change for art in Britain as it did for The Fine Art Society. The stimulus of Modernism had begun to influence British art, design and sculpture, producing new and radical artists, and with it, bold and exciting exhibitions.

For prints, the period after the First World War saw a boom in etchings, which ended in the wake of the Wall Street Crash. In the inter-war years the linocut introduced a new method for printing in colours, and after the Second World War the screenprint became popular with artists. We deal in prints from artists across the last century, from: Sybil Andrews, Cyril Power, Frank Auerbach, Edward Bawden, Gerald Brockhurst, John Copley and Ethel Gabain, Paul Nash, C.R.W. Nevinson, Ben Nicholson, Eric Ravilious and  Eduardo Paolozzi; to later artists including Geoffrey Clarke, Patrick Heron, David Hockney, Howard Hodgkin, John Hoyland, Peter Lanyon, Kenneth Martin, Bridget Riley and Graham Sutherland.

We have dealt in the work of many major British painters since the days of the Camden Town Group. These include early works by: Henry Scott Tuke, F.C.B. Cadell, Duncan Grant, Ivon Hitchens, Algernon Newton, Bertram Nicholls, Sir William Nicholson, Samuel Peploe, Glyn Philpot, Anne Redpath, Walter Sickert and Christopher Wood; as well as key works by later artists including: Sandra Blow, Prunella Clough, Richard Eurich, J. D. Fergusson, John Piper, and Stanley Spencer.
