Nineteenth Century Art & Design
We have been selling and buying 19th century paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures since the 19th century. We exhibited artists such as Whistler, Palmer, Alfred W. Hunt and Lord Leighton during their lifetime and continue to promote and sell their works nowadays alongside other important British names of the period.
Twentieth Century Art & Design
The gallery has exhibited many major modern British artists and designers over the last century, and has played a considerable role in the promotion of many influential artists and artist groups of the twentieth century.
The Fine Art Society Contemporary Art Department opened in 2006 and has been growing steadily since. The gallery now represents a core stable of British and international artists.
We have been trading from 148 New Bond Street since our opening on 14th February 1876. Surviving two world wars, global financial crises and spanning 140 years, discover what Walter Sickert called “the best shop in London”.

The architect Edward Godwin created our façade in 1881 and ever since, the three floors of galleries have been permanently open to the public for exhibitions.
