Chris Levine presents ‘Angel Presence’ an immersive new installation during Frieze Art Fair, in partnership with Swarovski.
British light artist Chris Levine will present an immersive light and sound installation using laser, crystal optics and peripheral imaging, at the Danish Church, Regent’s Park, London, in partnership with Swarovski. Set to take place during the Frieze Art Fair, this is the latest chapter in Levine’s exploration into the nature of light and its effect on our sense of being.
The installation will consist of a RGB 10W-scanning laser, shot through a cluster of Swarovski crystals whose precision-cut facets multiply and refract light around the church, in a pattern that is infinitely changing. The likeness of an angel will be seen in the viewer’s peripheral vision but will disappear as it is searched for. Wireless headphones will provide a soundscape made up of frequencies, which will quieten the mind and draw people towards stillness. ‘Angel Presence’ will absorb viewers in a pure union of light and sound.
