Timorous Beasties
Design duo Timorous Beasties returned to The Fine Art Society in Edinburgh for their third exhibition, showcasing a series of folding privacy screens. Each featured a unique screenprinted design over their signature fabrics.
Timorous Beasties was founded in Glasgow in 1990 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, who met studying textile design at Glasgow School of Art. The studio is a diverse operation and has emerged as an internationally acclaimed icon, recently opening a showroom in Berlin.Their first retail shop opened in 2004 on the Great Western Road, Glasgow, followed by a shop and trade showroom in central London.
Their work is included in collections worldwide including the National Museum of Scotland, Victoria & Albert Museum, Cooper Hewitt Museum and the Chicago Art Institute.
